May Favourites
digest of what i Loved & Recommend + read and listen to.
how is it already the end of may? it started off with wearing shearling coat and basically freezing, then summer weather made it’s way over here. i simply adore summer.
long morning walks. strawberries, cherries, blackberries, blueberries, watermelon. harry styles concert. pre-birthday haircut. long evening dinners with friends. citrus fragrances. red pedicures. evening walks. yoga & pilates.
The word May is a perfumed word… It means youth, love, song; and all that is beautiful in life. ~

READING
currently:
high fidelity by nick hornby
my sister recommended the mini-series to me, with zoë kravitz as the lead, a few years ago and i did end up completely forgetting about it. when i saw this in the local bookstore i simply had to pick up the copy. it starts with rob posing the questions ‘‘what is your top 5 most memorable split ups?’’. rob just broke up with Laura and she is definitely not in his top five. now he can do whatever he wants, he regained his freedom. however rob is in a rut, called Laura.
finished reads:
cynics by anatholy marienhof
funny, dark and disturbing story set during the russian revolution is newly translated to the english.
northanger abbey by jane austen
catherine, a true novel read, joins the Allens on her first visit to London. she enters society, befriends new people and this led to an invitation to northanger abbey. there she lets her mind indulge in fantasies she’s read in novels. this is said to be a satire of the gothic genre, whilst the beginning did in fact had those descriptions assigned to the genre they later faded away. in my opinion the end was wrapped up too fast and random.
austen’s stories are associated with spring — in my eyes at least — i was really in the mood for her regency novels. northanger abbey screams autumn to me, however it was the only one of hers on my physical to-be-read list. it was nice, however not my favourite of her.
EYEING
nantucket bag by dragon diffusion
on my wishlist since last year. i saw the exact colour way and size recently and now i would love to add this to my collection.
lee glasses by lie studio + camille glasses by vincent boulevard
in desperate need for a new pair of sunglasses and these two seem to be the perfect ones for me.
gris charnel by bdk perfumes
another fig fragrance on my wishlist, what’s new? this exudes elegance. fig, cardamom, iris, black tea with a woody base of tonka bean and sandalwood.
WEARING
lack of color inca bucket hat
first I had my eyes set on the janessa leone felix hat, however when time came around of ordering the colour way I wanted was sold out. then I found out about this australian brand and immediately ordered the hat. it’s THE perfect sunhat for me!
black loafers
spring weather demands for loafers. they elevate every outfit, from jeans to black trousers.
perfume rotation of the month
nice bergamot by essential perfumes
bergamot, jasmine, ylang-ylang, tonka bean, cedar. fresh and uplifting. perfect for spring and summer. nice addition to anyone’s collection, really universal.
l’eau des hesperides by diptyque
juniper berries, cedar, tonka bean, jasmine. bright, crisp, powdery and one to wear the year round in my opinion. incredible longevity.
vanilla haze by fugazzi
warm, creamy and rich. coconut milk, jasmine, vanilla, tonka bean, almond + hazelnut, hint of mandarin with a base of amber and musk. greta for the slightly colder days.
this is her by zadig & voltaire
cozy bedtime fragrance. warm, sweet, feels like a cozy blanket and hug. jasmine, chestnuts, vanilla, whipped cream, cashmere wood.
TREATING
cherries & watermelon
the beginning of cherry season arrived and i plan on enjoying it to the end. bi-weekly farmer’s market visits to get these juicy and sweet cherries. hydrating watermelon plates are another thing I currently adore. my favourite way to start my day is by going for a walk and then eating fresh fruits.
creed carmina
black cherries, warm saffron, praline, rose, amber. sensual and passionate.
figuier candle by diptyque
currently one of my favourite notes of both perfumes and candles are figs and fig leaves. it invites the summer vibe.
PLAYING
harry styles
insanely good spots we had for the harry concert. it was the first concert of the tour and we got standing tickets. in preparation I almost exclusively listened to his entire catalog. the concert — AMAZING!!!
melissa wood health videos
yoga, strength, standing series. quick 15-ish to 20 minutes full body is all it takes.

OBSESSING

truly refreshing to sip on this during the warm days. bring this everywhere with me, also get bottles for my friends so we all stay hydrated.
